Praise from readers for Depraved Difference, the international bestseller:
5 STARS! Wow, I wasn’t expecting that! Thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns–I couldn’t put it down. If you enjoy a good murder mystery that keeps you guessing right up to the end, then this is the one. I strongly recommend Depraved Difference but keep the doors locked.
5 STARS! BRILLIANT BOOK!! My Sister told me about this book, said i would love it!
She was right, its fantastic and kept me gripped the whole way through. Much to my children’s disgust i couldn’t put it down, even reading whilst cooking and hoping the kids will take ages to eat so i can read longer….lol.
The plot is great and you feel like you really get to know the characters, loved the ending ! Thank you for a fantastic book and look forward to more of your work.
5 STARS! Very scary, very believeable This story was a very scary story because I could see this happening. What would you do if you saw a woman, or anyone for that matter, being killed in front of not only you, but also in front of a whole subway car? Would you try and help or would you pretend nothing was happening? This is what kicks off this story.
Depraved Difference was a great read that kept me turning the pages into the wee hours of the night. It was hard to put this book down once I started it. If you like myster/thrillers than this is one book you should buy, you won’t be disappointed.
5 STARS! Shock and awe! I wasn’t sure what to expect having only one review to go by, but it didn’t take me long to become completely involved in this novel. I did nothing but read once I started it. I won’t spoil, but the ending blew me away! I will try to be patient while Robert works on his next work of art, but please don’t take too long and for God’s sake, let me know. I don’t want to miss it!
5 STARS! A truly awesome book I found this book to be completely fascinating. It kept me on the edge of my seat and caused me to lose some sleep. I started this book yesterday and could not go to sleep till I finished. Every time I thought I had something figured out another incident happened causing me to think again. I was very interested that this book is listed as a Detective Shakespeare Mystery and almost immediately into the book you find out he is due to retire from the force. So is this the only book about Detective Shakespeare? I have a very large TBR list and try to go in some sort of order but when a blurb about a book really catches me, I have to read it immediately. This story is so realistic that you can see it happening today. How many people have seen a crime and turned away because they didn’t want to get involved? I would give this book more than 5 star rating if it were available. Don’t miss this story, it is well worth the investment of 99 cents. I will be investigating other offering from this author.
5 STARS! An unexpected treat Being new to self-published books at ridiculously low prices, I started this book with low expectations – proof again of how wrong I can be! This is a great read, fast, furious, with more dead bodies than a holiday weekend in Midsomer.
As the blurb says the main story is about revenge killings of people who stood by and did nothing while a young woman is murdered. But it’s also a look at how the internet and media can turn brutal crime into entertainment and the impact that can have on the people involved.
The two main characters, reporter Aynslee Kai and Detective Hayden Eldridge are both attractive, likeable people. Aynslee’s crush on Hayden is very well handled and provides plenty of humour to act as a counterpoint to the darkness of the main plot. No spoilers, but yes, I was genuinely surprised by the ending.
Off now to check out the author’s other books.
5 STARS! Dont hesitate to buy this book If your reading these reviews to help make up your mind if you want to buy this book then dont hesitate!
Fast, gripping and well written I could not put this book down ! The Twist was great and totally unexpected !
Cant wait for the Sequel !
5 STARS! What a wonderful surprise! I bought this book for my kindle because I like a crime thriller and it was cheap. I was hooked from the beginning, the two storylines were fascinating, I did not see the finale coming and can honestly say this was one of the best books I have read in a long time. I will be looking out for this author and eagerly awaiting the next book. I was surprised that the author decided to self publish to keep prices down for readers and applaud him for this. If you are debating whether to buy this book or not I say ‘go for it’, you will not be disappointed.
5 STARS! Brilliant !! Compelling story from start to finish.
This book explores two seemingly unrelated crimes. The first is a tale of revenge on the witnesses of a violent and unprovoked public murder, surprisingly done in that my sypathy was with both the initial victim and those who, for reasons of their own, did not act. The second is the story of missing women, held captive by an unkmown assailant. Towards the end both tales are expertly drawn together to shock and surprise in equal measures. I for one did not see the climax coming.
Det Shakespeare begins the journey as a washed up cop, lazily biding his time until retirement. He is slowly transformed and we are given a glimpse of the man he was, and may yet still be, laying the path for a sequel.
I will definitely be looking forward to the next installment !!
5 STARS! This one is a keeper! There are few books that I have read, which, while reading them, have made me literally exclaim “Oh my god” out loud, this is one of them. A brilliantly thought out plot with believable characters. I’ll be keeping this one on my Kindle to read again!
5 STARS! I have no hesitation in recommending this book. I read it in one day because it was so hard to put down. There are two story lines going throughout the book and both very interesting and equally exciting. Well worth 5 stars.
5 STARS! I dont usually read A merican thrillers as I never understand them. I am glad I made an exception in this case. A cracking story with a twist that made me gasp outloud. Highly recommended.
Praise from readers for The Protocol:
5 STARS! Fast and furious If you want fast and furious, if you can cope with a high body count, most of all if you like to be hugely entertained, then you can’t do much better than J Robert Kennedy.Having read and loved Depraved Difference, I started this, his earlier novel, with high hopes and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Take an archaeologist or two, a conspiracy, a secret society, the US military, the British police – mix in some car chases, a lot of gore and a little romance and you have the recipe for a cracking thriller that gallops along at breakneck speed.
This book has a huge cast and a fairly complicated plot but Kennedy manages to keep all the balls in the air till the very end and then catches them neatly and skilfully. Sure, you might have to suspend your disbelief from time to time, but that’s no hardship – with likeable protagonists and some humour to lighten the tone, this is a great, fun read. Highly recommended.
